We did it! JCI Sheffield = Most Outstanding Chamber in the UK!

On Saturday 26 November, JCI members from around the UK (and Europe!) celebrated 2011 in style at the JCI UK Gala and National Awards dinner. As you will know, this was held at Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield…

…so it was all the more special when JCI Sheffield took to the stage 9 times over the course of the evening to collect a bevvy of awards!! I think it’s fair to say that yet again, we swept the board!

Named the Most Outstanding Chamber in the UK, JCI Sheffield was represented in force with over 20 members and senators in attendance – and of course, we had fantastic support (and cheering) from our Yorkshire friends from JCI Barnsley, JCI Boston, JCI Bradford, JCI Doncaster and JCI Leeds.

In summary, JCI Sheffield picked up:

  • Most Outstanding Chamber*
  • Most Outstanding Current Member*
  • Most Outstanding Deputy President
  • Most Outstanding Business Project*
  • Most Outstanding Training and Development Programme*
  • Most Outstanding Marketing and PR Programme*
  • Certification: Most Outstanding President of a Chamber 50 – 99 members*
  • JCI UK National Debate Team (Daniel Senter – JCI Sheffield, Anil Champaneri – JCI Leeds, Phil Cavalier-Lumley – JCI Bradford)
  • Best Debator -Daniel Senter

*These award winners will now go through to the JCI European awards which will be announced in Braunschweig, Germany in June 2012

It was also a great night for Yorkshire with JCI Leeds members collecting two gongs, JCI Boston also collecting two awards and JCI Bradford’s President Phil Cavalier-Lumley picking up the trophy for best Public Speaker! Well done Team Yorkshire!

So all in all, a fantastic end to what has been an incredible year for JCI Sheffield and our members with lots of recognition, success and new experiences to build on!

Although we still have two more events before the end of the year, it’s fitting for me to pay tribute to the JCI Sheffield 2011 Council Team who have worked extremely hard to deliver a diverse range of events and opportunities that enable everyone to create that positive change – be it in life, in business or in the community. These awards are a tribute to their efforts!

Lastly, I’d like to thank you – JCI Sheffield members. You are the heart of the chamber – you are the chamber and you are nationally recognised as being the best in the UK. Be proud of this achievement – we did it!
