Coaching skills are an invaluable way of having more effective conversations in your professional and personal life. This quote sums up what coaching is all about:

"Coaching is unlocking people's potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them."

John Whitmore.

In this engaging, thought-provoking session, we will work on the key skills to develop your coaching skills: setting goals, attentive listening, asking insightful questions, helping people to get results.

You'll have the chance to use your coaching skills with a peer and to work through a work/career issue that's holding you back.

Professional career and leadership coach, Lucy Owens, is facilitating the session. Lucy started to work as a coach at the BBC where she worked with a wide range of people, including drama producers, sports editors, engineers and marketing managers. She then went on to work in the HR Development team at Sheffield Hallam University. And she set up Lucy Owens Coaching in 2012 and now coaches people who want to thrive in their working lives - changing direction in their career, preparing for a job interview, performing in a leadership role.
